Interpreter

An interpreter and accompaniment service in English, Innu and Naskapi is available in health and social services facilities in Sept-Îles. To talk to the liaison officer, Ms. Sharon Tardif, call 418-965-7621 or simply pick up the phone at the entrance of the emergency department and at the main entrance of the hospital, at 45, rue du Père-Divet.

The main tasks of the liaison officer are to:

  • Welcome and inform the clientele about the available services
  • Accompany the English-speaking clientele
  • Act as a liaison from one service to another to ensure the continuity of service
  • Support the intervenors in their relationships with the English-speaking clientele
  • Act as an interpreter

A few days before your travel or your appointment, contact the liaison officer to book an appointment and thus ensure you have access to this service!

An interpreter service in Innu is also available at the Hôpital Le Royer (Baie‑Comeau). Moreover, many workers of the CISSS de la Côte-Nord can speak English.
