Consultation of the North Shore population

The Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de la Côte‑Nord starts a wide regional consultation aimed at giving a voice to communities in order to better understand their needs, realities and priorities in terms of health and social services.

Who can participate?

The following people and groups are invited:

  • Elected officials and municipal leaders
  • Community organizations
  • School representatives
  • Childcare centre (CPE) representatives
  • Representatives of groups that work together in the community
  • Anyone in the population who is interested

Topics covered

Important health-related topics will be discussed, such as:

  • Healthy lifestyle habits (eating well, being active, sleeping)
  • Development of young children
  • Mental health
  • Chronic diseases (e.g., diabetes, heart diseases, hypertension, cancer)
  • Aging of the population
  • Access to health services

How does the consultation take place?

Two meetings in each local services network

  • In-person meetings of about two hours
  • In some cases, an online meeting can be held

Each meeting is divided into three stages:

Presentation and explanation of the meeting
Discussions in small groups
Getting back into a large group to sum up ideas

After the consultation

  • A summary of the main ideas will be prepared for each territory
  • A local committee will be created to follow up on the actions to implement
