According to the Act respecting the governance of the health and social services system, the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux de la Côte-Nord had the duty to elaborate a program of access (valid until 2026).
The aim is to determine the obligations of the facilities towards the services that should be accessible in English, while taking into account their human, material and financial resources and respecting applicable laws.
In our region, the majority of facilities targeted by this program must offer a portion of their services in English. Only the Lower North Shore has the legal obligation to make all its services accessible in French and in English.
