What is telehealth?

Telehealth is an online meeting with your health professional.

Preparing for a telehealth meeting

Participate in a teleconsultation as a patient

Do you need technological support?

There is a free support service:

  • To do a practice meeting
  • To deal with technical problems

OR call to receive assistance from Monday to Friday, between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Prepare your space

Limit noise

Choose a quiet space. Turn off your television and your radio.

Choose a private space

Choose a space where you will not be disturbed and where you will be comfortable to talk.

Wear appropriate clothing

Dress as you would if you were receiving a visitor in person.

Adjust the lighting

Turn on the room lights. Avoid standing with your back to a window or mirror. Close the curtains or blinds if necessary.

Helpful tips

 

Test your equipment the day before the meeting.

 

Log in 15 minutes before the beginning of the meeting.

 

Have your telephone on hand. Your professional may call you if there are technical issues.

 

Have your health insurance card on hand.

 

Notify the professional if you are with someone.

Safe telehealth

The CISSS de la Côte-Nord commits to provide confidential and professional services.

  • Services provided in telehealth and in person have the same quality.
  • The technological means used meet the highest security criteria.

Your rights and remedies

 
You can always refuse telehealth services. In this case, in-person services must be provided to you.
